First-time hirers, please complete the New Hirer application form. Once your application has been reviewed by management, our team will email you to confirm your room booking at Hancock Community House.
Returning Room Hirers
If you have hired a meeting room at Hancock Community House before, email or call us on 06 354 3809 during opening hours to make a booking. Regular hirers can request access to the booking calendar to manage their own bookings.
After-hours Bookings
Room bookings are accepted outside of opening hours (9am-4pm, Mon-Fri). After-hours bookings are subject to additional terms and conditions.

Christmas/New Year Shutdown
Hancock Community House is closed for a 2-week period over the Christmas and New Year period. During this shutdown period, room bookings will not be available. Dates will be advised via Hancock Community House social media channels during the month of December.
All meeting room hirers at Hancock Community House are subject to the following terms and conditions.
Kōwhai/Whero (Double Room)
A very versatile meeting room suitable for up to 40 people (theatre-style). Hirers have the option to utilize the entire space or request for the room to be divided into two smaller rooms. The room is equipped with a 75" wall-mounted TV with HDMI input (USB-C adaptor available at Reception), 5 movable tables, 40 chairs, and a free standing whiteboard. Video-conferencing equipment is available upon request. |
Kikorangi (Blue Room)
Suitable for up to 20 people (theatre-style or in a circle) or 12 people (boardroom-style), this meeting room is great for hybrid workshops or conferences, courses, staff, volunteer or committee meetings. Hirers have access to a 50" wall mounted TV with HDMI and USB-C inputs, 3 movable tables, 20 chairs and a free standing whiteboard. Video-conferencing equipment is available upon request. |
Karaka (Orange Room)
Suitable for smaller meetings of 4-6 people. The room has a wall mounted whiteboard for hirers to use.Karaka can be booked for a maximum of 3 hours per week for external users. |
Kākāriki (Green Room)
Suitable for one-on-one consultations, or small meetings of up to 4 people. The room has a wall mounted whiteboard for hirers to use. Kakariki can be booked for a maximum of 3 hours per week for external users and has a whiteboard |

On-street parking is available on both King Street and Queen Street. There is also a council carpark located on King Street. See Palmerston North

Rates above are inclusive of GST. Minimum charge is 30 minutes. Half day rate = 4-7 hours. Full day rate = 7+ hours.
